Why reward-to-risk matters more than win rate
A trader who wins only 40% of the time can still be very profitable at 3:1 reward-to-risk — because the winners pay for the losers and then some. The break-even win rate is risk ÷ (risk + reward): at 2:1 you only need to win about a third of your trades to stay flat.
